Biography of Roly Johnson

Roly Johnson is a singer/songwriter based in Northumberland UK. A musical career that has spanned his entire life has included folk-gospel, work with varous pop bands in clubs and pubs, and as a solo artist, travelling all over the world including Canada, Europe, Eastern Europe, USSR, Israel, and The Baltics.

Roly’s music creates pictures and tells stories. It’s difficult to say whether he is a poet who sings or a singer who writes poetry. It is perhaps best summed up by the concept of ‘songs about Life’ - and about the relationship we have with our Creator, and the implications that has for all of us - whether we believe in Him or not. Sometimes it’s about struggle, sometimes about the good things that happen to us, but always about the intimacy of a one-on-one relationship with someone who is sometimes difficult to understand, but who understands us completely.
